Arabic Cultural Talk ‘Malaysia in Arab Eyes and Arabs in Malaysian Eyes’

The Faculty of Languages in cooperation with the Arabic Language Club of Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) recently held an arabic cultural talk entitled ‘Malaysia in Arab Eyes and Arabs in Malaysian Eyes’ on Friday, 31 March 2017. The session was held in the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ammar Abdulwahab, Deanship of Scientifc Research with the external guest speaker, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Hamed; Professor of Literature and Criticism, Department of Arabic Language, King Khalid University of Saudi Arabia.

The session attended by the faculty’s members and students in which Dean Faculty of Languages, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Daud Quadir Elega gave an opening speech on the importance of learning and teaching the Arabic language, and the efforts taken by the university in spreading the language through the means of modern technology. Assoc. Prof. Dr Elsayed Mohamed Salem, Head of the Department of Arabic Language gave a speech in which he recalls his personal experiences in Malaysia. Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof.Dr.Ab Rahim Ismail, Deputy CEO of Research & Development Division spoke on the ancient relationship between Arabic and Malay, with the history of the introduction of Arabic language in the Malaysian schools and its development.
