Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) recently held its Qurban Ceremony in Chad, Africa from 12-15 September 2016. The program was part of university’s corporate social responsibilty in regards to community program to strengthen the ties with the Muslim communities globally as well to uphold the spirit of ukhuwwah among Muslims in the spirit of Eidul Adha.
The program was a collaboration with Malaysian organization namely EZ Qurban Sdn.Bhd and Persatuan kebajikan Mahabbah Malaysia. The program was held in 25 locations apart from the the capital city of Chad, N’Dajmeina. A total more than 350 cows were sacrifice for the Qurban and Aqiqah program. The meat distribution were given to several nearby villages and those in need who have been identified by the High Islamic Affairs Republic of Chad committee among others are the Islamic Education Center, Institute of Tahfiz Al-Quran, refugee camp, orphanage homes and others.
The program is an annual program organized by the Public Relations and was led by Ust.Jamaluddin Hussain, Head of PR Department; Mr. Abdoulaye Mahamat Zakariya, Deputy Dean of Student Services Department and Mr. Sakhairoune Adoum Soumaine, university’s official from Chad.
The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in the Republic of Chad, Sheikh Dr. Hussein Hassan acknowledged his appreciation to CEO, Prof.Dr.Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi and the university’s for having the worship program in Chad. he states that the program is very meaningful the people and community of the Republic of Chad and expressed his gratitude to the Malaysian people for their generosity and making the program a success.
