MEDIU has step forward in extending bridges of cooperation and moving ahead towards achieving its objective and vision, as well to be in connection with international university. Recently, MEDIU signed a memorandum of Understanding with Maakhir University (MU), Baran in Somalia on Monday, 11 February 2015.
The agreement was in the framework of training cooperation and the adoption of the training curriculum between the two parties and were signed between MEDIU’s Honorable CEO; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi and CEO of Maakhir University; Zekerie Said Osman. The partnership aims to strengthen cooperation between the two universities, especially in the field of training and education services. The agreement also includes a framework for the development of training programs and the organization of training courses and workshops in a variety of fields that can be beneficial to both parties.
Maakhir University (http://maakhiruniversity.net/) was founded in 2009 with the main campus located in Puntland, Baran, Somalia. MU has undergone tremendous transformation in terms of geographical coverage, courses offered and management structure. Maakhir University is the most full-fledged university for the northeastern regions of Somalia (known as Puntland State of Somalia) to fulfill the educational requirements of the society. Among the faculties of Maakhir University are Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Shariah & Islamic Studies, Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Veterinary and Faculty of Community Development.
