Visit by IPG Kampus Pendidikan Islam, Bangi

Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) received an honoured delegation visit of 20 lecturers from the Department of Arabic Languages of IPG Kampus Pendidikan Islam (Institute of Teacher, Islamic College of Education) in Bangi, Selangor on Tuesday, 18 November 2014. The institute is a higher education institution under the Ministry of Education to train future teachers to undertake college courses at certificate, diploma and degree level programs for Islamic education. The delegation was led by Ustaz Fazdi Harun, Coordinator of the Arabic Language Centre and was welcomed by MEDIU’s Faculty of Languages and Centre of Languages representatives.

The objectives of the visit are to gain insight on MEDIU’s Center of Languages and Faculty of Languages information on its academic programs, the course outline, the learning methods and as well as on the on-line learning development. The program. The program begins with a welcome remarks by Madam Izwah Kamaruddin, representative from Marketing Department and followed by Quran recitation. An overall review on MEDIU’s history and achievements were presented by Deputy CEO of Students Affairs Division; Assoc. Prof. Dr.Ismail Mat.

The session continues with an introduction of the Faculty of Languages by Head of Arabic Language Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Elsayed Mohamed Salem on the importance of Arabic language and followed by presentation on the course outline of Centre of Languages delivered by Head of Arabic Language, Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdulwasiu Isiaq Nasirudeen. Later, Assoc.Prof.Dr.Daud Abd.Quadir Elega; Dean Faculty of Languages and Director, Centre of Languages presented the interactive ‘Learn Arabic’ which can be easily access through MEDIU’s main website. A demonstration of live class(online) via Wiziq application were presented to the lecturers on its special features; where the live class can be recorded to be viewed later by the students as well as the interactive way of communication between the lecturer and students.

At the end of the session, a token of presentation were presented to Assoc.Prof.Dr.Daud Abd.Quadir Elega by the Coordinator of the Arabic Language Centre and the delegation expressed their gladness of visiting MEDIU and admiration on MEDIU’s achievement in using the modern technology in support to the learning process.
