Seminar ‘The Moral Values ​​in the Financial Industry’

MEDIU’s Faculty of Islamic Sciences(FIS) in collaboration with the Deanship of Scientific Research held the 2nd FIS Seminar entitled ‘The Moral Values ​​in the Financial Industry’ on Tuesday, 29 April 2014. The session was chaired by Mr. Doucoure Abdou Samadou.

This workshop is intended to stress on the importance of moral values ​​in the development of the Islamic finance industry. The session begin with the recitation of Al-Quran and followed by the first presenter; Asst . Prof. Dr. Ali Mohamed Ramadan Abdelmoeti on ‘commercial fraud , corruption and its impact on society ” by the Faculty of Islamic Sciences , Asst . Prof. Dr. Ali Mohamed Ramadan Abdelmoeti. It emphasize on the  importance of research ethics in Islam and its role in building a good society and the impact of fraud and embezzlement and corruption as well as how to deal with different types of commercial fraud.

The session was followed by a presentation by Asst . Prof Dr Muhammad Said Al Mujahed with his topic ‘The absence of moral values ​​and Shariah transactions’. He highlighted several irregularities in economic activity, in which the fraud committed by such manner and the illegal manufacture and counterfeit where its impact will occur moral corruption that led to the destruction of civilization.

‘The impact of industry money in elections and the formation of public opinion’ were presented by Asst.Hussein Ali Omar Al-Zomi in the third session and continued with ‘Moral Values ​​in Islamic Financial Transactions’. Asst.Prof Dr Anisur Rahman presented a study on ‘Monopoly in the Financial Industry in the Light of Islamic Law’, focusing on approaches to overcome monopoly in financial transactions.

Lastly, the workshop ends with a session on the ‘Ethics Dealing with Non-Muslims in Financial Transactions’ by Asst.Prof. Dr. Ibrahim N Tadahoud where he explains the importance of good manners that should be owned by a Muslim, even with non-Muslims in financial transactions. At the end of the session, the chairman expressed his acknowledgement to all who has contributed to the completion of the scientific seminar and hopes that such seminar will continue in the near future.
