Workshop: Internationalisation of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education

Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) participated in the HRDF claimable scheme training program ‘Internationalisation of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education’ on Monday, 10 November 2014 in Empire Hotel in Subang, Selangor. The one-day intensive workshop attended by MEDIU’s Deputy CEO of Academic Affairs Division; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dr Hj. Wan Mat Hj Sulaiman.

The program was organised by Liquid Learning; a research and program development company and the facilitator of the workshop is Professor Glenda Crosling; an academic expert currently based Sunway University, Malaysia as well as Associate Professor in the Office of Provost Learning and Teaching, Monash University in Australia.

Among the objectives of the program are to understand the current trends and challenges surrounding student mobility and the internalization of Universities, fostering teaching and learning excellence in an internationalized higher education landscape as well as providing a culturally inclusive and global education experience.

The workshop equipped the participants on the keys for quality higher education in knowledge society among others are intellectual capacity enhanced through active and applied learning (e.g.; research, international links and problem solving), smart partnerships with key stakeholders within the country and across the globe to enrich learning and adequate provision of incentives for staff to foster creative learning and innovation.
