The Faculty of Computer and Information Technology (FCIT) recently held a one day workshop session on ‘Fundamentals of Dealing with Databases Using Oracle Database’ on Saturday, 6 May 2017. The workshop was presented by Faculty’s Dean, Asst. Prof. Dr. Wael Mohamed Shaher Yafooz.
The workshop was held for the undergraduate and postgraduate students of FCIT to develop the software skills and provide the students with the methods of dealing with databases as well as on how to deal with Oracle databases and SQL PLUS environment.
Among the topics covered are:
• Database basics.
• Knowledge of the databases available in the labor market and their importance and what is the difference between them.
• Dealing with the SQL Plus environment.
• Structured Query Language and its types.
• Dealing with entering, challenging and retrieving data.
The Faculty of Computer and Information Technology seeks to establish a number of practical and scientific workshops for the faculty’s students in order to provide the students with the skills of programming and research, thus facilitating the educational process of the students.
