Visit to Malaysian Qualifications Agency(MQA)

 

mediu_mqaMEDIU’s Honorable CEO; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi visited the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) on Tuesday, 10 June 2014 and was welcomed by the Honorable CEO, Dato Dr.Syed Ahmed Hussein. MEDIU delegates was accompanied by the Deputy CEO of Academic Affairs Division; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Wan Mat Wan Sulaiman and the Registrar personnels; Mr.Aiman Abdullah and Mrs.Nurul Ashikin Abdul Latif.

Dato’Dr.Syed expressed his appreciation to MEDIU for their interests and their efforts to stand by the regulations and roles in the dissemination of knowledge throughout the world and praised on winning the first rank among Malaysian private universities in the Web Matrix recently. Throughout the visit, MEDIU’s new programs to be offered and submitted to MQA for approval were being discussed. Among the agenda are MEDIU’s raise their concern on the conventional learning license (face to face method) programs for the PhD programs that were formerly approved and certified. MQA states that they will follow through the processing once they have received confirmation from the Ministry of Education (MOE). The new standardized circular on the policy for the duration of study for PhD and Master program which is 3 years and 2 years respectively were also being discussed.

At the end of the session, MQA states that any accredited programs are well accepted in the following countries namely New Zealand, United Kingdom, Australia and Taiwan as the respective countries recognized its accreditation body. At the end of the visit, Dato’ Dr.Syed Ahmad Hussein expressed his admiration to MEDIU’s on its achievements in their progress in achieving higher quality standards in the education field.
