Visit by Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Nigeria

Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) received an honored delegation visit from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto in Nigeria Thursday, 11 June 2015. The visit was led by the Vice Chancellor; Prof. Dr.Aminu Silaihu Mikailu and was welcomed by Honorable CEO; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi and expressed his pleasure of the visit, which comes in the framework of cooperation between MEDIU and international university.

Visual presentations of the University’s and its history; which provides an overview of the University’s faculties and academic programs were being presented to the honoured guest. Prof. Dr.Aminu expressed his gladness of visiting MEDIU to view closely on the modern technology in support to the e-learning process as well as the have closer insights on the achievements by the University’s.

The Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (formerly known as University of Sokoto) (http://udusok.edu.ng/) is one of the four universities established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in September 1975. The City Campus is situated along Sultan Abubakar Road, Sokoto with the with the initial enrolment of ninety-three undergraduate students for the degrees of Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Arts/Science in Education and Bachelor of Science in 1977.

The University statute established the Center for Islamic Studies in 1982 with aims to promote the study of and research in Islam, its instructions and related disciplines as well as its culture with special reference to the northern states of Nigeria to assist in the manpower development of the locality and the country at large.
