Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) received an honored guest from Umma University, Kenya on Tuesday, 30 January 2018. The guests was led by Prof. Mohamed Karama, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic, Research and Students Affairs and accompanied by Dr. Ali Adan Ali, Senior Research & Registrar. The delegates was welcomed by MEDIU’s Honorable CEO; Prof. Emeritus Ismawi Zen in his office and expressed his pleasure for the visit, which comes in the framework of cooperation between the two parties and discuss ways of cooperation with the university in the fields of academic, technical and scientific research.
The honored guests expressed their gladness of visiting MEDIU to view closely on the modern technology in support to the e-learning process and to identify the potential collaboration on the university discipline of studies in disseminating knowledge throughout the globe.
Umma University (https://www.umma.ac.ke/) was recognized by the Higher Education Committee as the first private Islamic University in 2013. The University of Umma was founded in 1997 as Thika University and then became Umma University in 2010. Umma University aims at providing knowledge in various traditional teaching methods, open education and distance learning using modern technology in the areas of Islamic studies, sharia and economics.
