Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) received a delegation of students and teachers from Sultan Ismail Petra International Islamic College (KIAS), Kelantan on Thursday, 18 May 2017. The delegates was led by Dr. Linamalini binti Mat Nafi, Head of Department of Arabic Languages and was welcomed by MEDIU’s Dean Faculty of Languages; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daud Abdul Quadir Elega along with respective faculty members namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elsayed Mohamed Salem, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdulwasiu Isiaq Nasirudeen and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Flayyih Mudhhi Ahmed. The educational trip enables the students to gain more information on university’s development, academic programmes available as well as to gain exposure on the Arabic learning environment in the university.
In the introductory session, Assoc. Prof.Dr.Daud Abdul Quadir Elega conveyed his welcome speech in which he expressed his pleasure of the visit. He also introduced the courses available at the Faculty of Languages, its role and the quality of the courses offered in order to provide a source of inspiration for the students to continue their studies in MEDIU. Some tips to master the Arabic language and the proposal of acquiring excellence in language acquisition have been applied to the students. The visit was held in conjunction with the scientific symposium organized by the Faculty of Languages ‘International Digital Future About Curriculum Design for Skill Development of Non-Arabic Speakers’. Among the papers presented were ‘Curricula of Teaching Arabic to Non-Speakers and Its Role in the Society’, ‘Design and development of Arabic Digital Curricula for Non-Native Speakers’ and ‘Reading and Studying in the Arabic Series for Non-Arabic Speakers’.
At the end of the program a token of appreciation were presented to the head of delegation and later were brought for a short tour to have a closer look at the classes, computer labs, library and other facilities around the University’s learning center.
