Symposium ‘MEDIU’s Role in Elevate the Arabic Language’

Al-Madinah International University(MEDIU) recently held the seminar on ‘MEDIU’s Role in Elevate the Arabic Language’. The symposium was organized by the Faculty of Languages in cooperation with the Deanship of Scientific Research under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Khalifa Al-Tamimi which was held on Friday, 26 December 2014. The Scientific Research Committee believes in the need to create such seminars and conferences in the aimed to elevate and uplift the Arabic language to a greater level.

The session started with recitation of the Al-Quran and followed by a  presentation of seven(7) papers based on the related topics were delivered by the faculty members which was led by the moderator, Asst. Prof. Dr. Khaled Hamdy Abdelkarim Kassem; lecturer in the Faculty of Islamic Sciences where he welcomed the participants and brief on the objectives of the symposium.

The session began with the first presentation from Asst. Prof. Dr. Nada Al-Daher with her ​​research entitled “The Foundation of the Formulation of Linguistic Terms in MEDIU” and followed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Elsayed Mohamed Salem, Lecturer from the Faculty of Languages presented his study entitled “The Reality of Teaching Arabic in MEDIU-Efforts and Obstacles”. The third paper was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr Ayman Aied Mohammed Mamdouh from the Faculty of Education with his paper entitled ‘Evaluation Study: MEDIU’s Foundation in Arabic Language and Islamic Sciences”. Meanwhile, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sekou Toure; Dean of Scientific Research delivered “An Analytical Study: The Dialectical Relationship between the teaching of Arabic Language and Islamic Sciences” for the fourth session.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Khaled Hamdy Abdelkarim Kassem presented his topic on ‘The Impact of Al-Quran in the Development of Arabic Language Skills Amongst Students” for the fifth session and this was followed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ashraff Hasan Mohammad with his paper entitled ‘ Dissemination of the Arabic Language in the World: Al-Azhar University and MEDIU”. Lastly, the symposium ends by Asst.Prof. Dr. Mohammad Azab with the final paper entitled “Arabic Learning Environment: Hope and Reality”. The symposium ends with Q&A session by the participants as well as recommendation by the Deanship of Scientific Research; Asst. Prof. Dr. Sekou Toure.

Lastly, the presenters expressed their thanks and appreciation to the University’s administration on the support given in the organization of such programs and seminars for the benefit of the University’s.
