Employees are the foundation for the development of an organization and it is a social responsibility to the employer to protect the interests of its employees. Thus, MEDIU’s CEO founded ‘Staff Takaful Welfare Fund’(STWF).
Recently, the Public Relations Department conducted an interview with its CEO, Prof.Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi to learn more on the importance of the services, to reflect on the fund’s goals and interests.
Introduction of ‘Staff Takaful Welfare Fund’(STWF)?
– The establishment of STWF was launched in 2010, with the members needs to be an employee of the University. The objectives of this fund is configured to generate fund for the employees as well as to set up contributions from MEDIU’s employees and the University.
How it works?
– The contribution will be made through payroll deduction in an amount agreed upon by the employee, with the purpose of providing financial assistance, subsidies and loans to eligible employees of the members of the STWF. Providing financial support to ease employees burden in unforeseen circumstances, child birth and marriage funds are among the services available.
What is the procedures?
– Deduction of salary will be made to staff who signed the Subscription Form only. University will contribute as well in the STWF based on 1 to 1 condition. The form will be signed by the employee to allow HR to deduct the amount from the salary.
Is it mandatory?
– The contribution is based on sincerity and is not a mandatory to each employee. However, benefiting from this Fund is only for the staff that’s agreed to contribute in the STWF.
Number of participation?
– The fund has accumulated 49 members and hopefully this number will increase from time to time.
Who is managing the fund?
– The Managing Board comprises of Head of Administrative Affairs Division as Chairman, Secretary of the Administrative Affairs Division as Secretary and six(6) representatives from all the University’s division.
At the end of the session, MEDIU’s Honorable CEO, Prof.Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi express his gratitude on the Management’s initiative and invite all the employees to participate in the fund, to collaborate and solidarity among the staff.
