Short Course: Mustalah Al-Hadith

Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) recently held a short course ‘Mustalah Al-Hadith’ on Saturday, 10 October 2020. This is the second course conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fadlan Mohd Othman; MEDIU’s CEO through the virtual application ‘Zoom’ and the implementation of the course is made easy and suitable for the general public to understand.

The course has attracted almost 50 participants where the main objective of the course is to give an overview of the knowledge of Mustalah Al-Hadith which discusses the history of hadith narration and how our scholars identify sounds from hadith from the weak or fabricated one. Among the scopes of the course discussed are prophetic hadith – its definition, isnad (chain of narrators), matn (text of the hadith), the types of hadith according to the strength of its isnad, to whom it is attributed and others.
