Open Day for Faculty of Computer and Information Technology Students

The Faculty of Computer and Information Technology recently held an open day in welcoming the new students of February 2017 intake as a guidance session for the students on the faculties operation. The session begins with a remark by the Faculty’s Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wael Mohamed Shaher Yafooz presented a presentation to students about the structure of the college and its programs and the importance of keeping up with the technological progress. He also urged students to follow up on the latest technology applications and practical aspects which help students develop their practical and technical skills. Among the presentation were on the faculty’s introduction, its rules and reglation, expected career opportunities for students, methods of communication with academic staff, General Education Subjects (MPU) materials as well as study tips and techniques for those furthering the postgraduate levels and the importance of scientific research and publishing. The faculty also presented on the additional activities of the coming semester namely participating in the programming competition, setting up workshops and conducting field visits to major IT companies to provide students with the skills and expertise required for the labor market.
