Ismawi’s aim to make Arabic as a language of knowledge at MEDIU
The foreword states MEDIU’s Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Emeritus Dr. Ismawi Zen has a charismatic personality in the education and architecture field. He is a panel member for the Expansion Project of Masjidil Haram, Makkah Al-Mukarramah and was elected as Tokoh Maal Hijrah National Level in the year 2011.
Since its establishment as a non profit university which provides virtual (online) and conventional learning (on campus) in Arabic and Islamic Sciences courses with the aim to make Islamic-based education as the best preparation for the younger Muslims generation.
The university wants to restore the importance of Arabic as a language of knowledge as in during the Islamic era of Europe. We want to make MEDIU as a one-stop Arabic language institution that teach the language of the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. If you want to successfully master the language the environment is important, where MEDIU students can study directly from the native Arabic speaker lecturers. “We have lecturers from Arab countries that can not only teach Arabic but also teach according to the accent and culture in which people speak the language”, says Prof. Emeritus Dr. Ismawi Zen during his recent interview with Utusan Malaysia.
