Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) recently participated in the briefing session of Dataset QS Analytics which was held at Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi (KPT) in Putrajaya on Tuesday, 12 December 2017. The Department of Higher Education in collaboration with Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) organized the briefing session, in the presence of Datin Paduka Ir. Dr. Siti Hamisah Binti Tapsir, Director General of Higher Education Ministry to subscribe Dataset QS Analytics that covering all the data from the chosen universities locally and internationally.
The participation of MEDIU in the session was to get more information on how to improve the ranking of universities in QS Asia. Where, MEDIU has just entered QS Asia University (2018) stage for the first time and ranks 351-400 among 2018 universities across Asia which includes more than 400 educational institutions from 17 countries. The university is also ranked 24th in the category of universities in Malaysia as officially announced on the QS website on 16 October 2017.
Throughout the session, Prof. Dr. Nordin Yahaya from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) introduced the indicators used to compile the QS University Rankings and recommended Malaysian universities to focus more on international visibility and to collaborate with each other in order to gain strong academic reputation through QS official voting system.
