Humanitarian Aid Program for Rohingya Migrants

Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) recently held ‘Humanitarian Aid Program For Rohingya Migrants’, a noble program organized by the Students Affairs Division with the intention to assist the Rohingya Migrants. The delivery of the humanitarian aid was delivered to the Immigration Department of Malaysia in Putrajaya, Selangor on Friday, 24 July 2015 and was accepted by Dato’ Mustafa bin Hj Ibrahim, the Chief Director of Immigration Malaysia. The contribution consist of 80 boxes of goods such as clothes, disposable items, dry and canned foods, books, shoes, praying attires, toiletries, towel and blanket will be distributed among all Rohingya migrant in nominated Immigration Depot in the area of West Malaysia.

The program was successfully held in the month of Ramadhan from 19 June till 3 July 2015 as an act of social responsibility towards well-being of the entire Muslims Ummah irrespective of their background. Few contribution counters were placed at designated areas such as the Plaza Masalam Lobby, MEDIU’s Reception Office and Learning Centre. The mission was led by Deputy CEO of Students Affairs Division; Assoc. Prof. Dr.Ismail Mat, Dean of Student Affairs Department; Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Sayed Al-Halawani, Dean of Student Services Department; Asst. Prof. Dr. Bakare Kazeem Kayode, Head of Student Services Department; Madam Bibi Asma’ Sher Mohamad and Student Services Officer; Brother Muhammad Uwais As-Sadiq Abdul Rahim as well as students representatives from the Faculty of Computer & IT namely Sister Ejalonibu Sekinat Folake, Najimudeen Ashiat Abiola and Osuolake Khadijah Asake.
