Gathering of Chief Executive Officer of Private Education Institutions with the Minister of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE)

Al-Madinah International University(MEDIU) attended the Gathering of Chief Executive Officer of Private Education Institutions with Minister of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE) on Thursday, 10 September 2015 at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya in Selangor. MEDIU’s were represented by Deputy CEO of Academic Affairs Division, Assoc.Prof.Dr.Hj.Wan Mat Sulaiman and accompanied by Head of Public Relations Department, Mr.Jamaluddin Hussain. The session was officiated by Minister of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE), Honorable Dato Seri’ idris Jusoh and a welcoming speech by the Director General of Higher Education, Honorable Dato’ Prof. Dr Asma binti Ismail.

The session includes presentation and speech by Mr.Yazid Abd Hamid, CEO of Education Malaysia Global Service4s (EMGS) and Prof.Datuk Dr.Gregory Mustafa, CEO of Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). The participants were also presented on the the Malaysian Education Blueprint (Higher Education) 2015-2025 with the theme ‘Soaring Upwards’ delivered by Prof.Dr.Norhayati Mohamed, Director of Program Management Office, MOHE.

The gathering aims to provide exposure and create awareness to the Private Higher Learning Institutions on the Malaysia Education Blueprint as well as on the current state, vision and aspirations of the higher education sector as well as open discussion on issues faced by the private higher institutions. Dato Seri’ idris Jusoh believe that the competitiveness of the private higher institutions can be farther enhanced by the harmonization of public higher education institutions and private sector to be one the emphasis in the 2015-2015 Development Plan for the Higher Education.

At the end of the session, Minister of Higher Education said “That the success of the action plan is to produce graduates with holistic, balanced entrepreneurship which can assist in improving the country’s education system towards greater heights. To achieve excellence at the global level, it is a shared responsibility and can only be achieved with the cooperation of all parties.” Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh also expressed hope that such meetings able to create a consistent channel of discussions between the Ministry of Higher Education, together with the private higher education institutions.
