Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) Honorable CEO, Prof.Dr.Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi participated in the “Islamic Conference on Endowments (EIC)” in Mecca, Saudi Arabia on 18-20 October 2016.
Honorable CEO presented a paper entitled “Endowment and Its Role in The Development and Deployment of e-Learning” on the 1st session of the 2nd day on 19 October 2016, where he focuses on ‘Waqf and its role in the dissemination and development of e-learning” by taking the university as a model; in which the university’s basis of its inception by endowment but currently depends on the student’s own financing. He also noted the establishment of the non-profit university is to assist disadvantaged students to gain knowledge, especially in the field of Islamic Sciences.
The conference is organized by the General Authority of Endowments whom led by Dr.Moufarrej bin Saad Hagbani. The launch of the Islamic Conference of Endowments is in line with “Saudi Arabia s Vision 2030” in the Cabinet meeting iunder the chairmanship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The conference provide an excellent platform and opportunity for various ministers, leaders, researchers of the Islamic countries to exchange ideas, applications and solutions in enhancing the developmental contributions to endowments to serve Saudi Arabia’s vision 2030.
