MEDIU’s Faculty of Engineering has met with a wide range of engineering students to brief them about the Student Advisory System (SAS) which is newly implemented in the faculty of engineering. The system aims to provide academic help and guidance for the students from the day they enrol in the faculty till they graduate. The session was held on Monday, 29 February 2016 attended by a large number of students from the Faculty of Engineering.
The session was briefed and conducted by Assoc. Prof. Helmy Othman, who has highlighted the importance of such a system in the Faculty of Engineering and at the university in general in order to ensure that the academic counselling necessary are implemented and well defined for the students during their academic studies. Dr. Helmy has also lists the important points on how students should connect with their respective lecture as they are their academic advisers, during their educational journey at the Al-Madinah International University to overcome whatever difficulties they might to face linked to their performance and studies.
Thus, it is necessary for all engineering students to visit their academics from time to time on an ongoing basis to ensure that academic counselling provided sufficient in order to guarantees students’ academic to development and performance and how they can make best use of their course.
Advisory System (Academic Advisor) is a hub of the educational process, it provides many benefits for students. Academic advisory system consider a strong element that support a students during their university life, guiding the students and providing the necessary information and assist to them in the preparation and registration courses that is more suitable for them is a helpful in adapting to university and study requirements. Faculty of Engineering has relied on the teaching staff in providing advises and counselling to students in academic matters such as selection of specializations, providing students with suggestions and advises to improving their education level, and to help them overcome any academic and even administrative difficulties, and to find out their preferences and develop their special abilities, and take advantage of the wide expertise available in university.
