To improve the overall performance of the University and the development of policies and the ability to follow a modern curriculum in the areas of strategic management, MEDIU has invited Dr. Nur Anisah Abdullah from International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) for the implementation of the University’s balanced scorecard on Tuesday, 6 May 2014. Her main focus of research has been performance measurement for the higher education, business planning, monitoring and improving quality assurance processes, and the development, implementation and use of performance measurement system.
The session was attended by the MEDIU’s Management, among others Deputy CEO of Academic Affairs Division; Associate Professor Dr Hj. Wan Mat Hj Sulaiman, Deputy CEO of Research and Development; Assoc. Prof. Dr. AB Rahim Ismail and Deputy CEO of Students Affairs Division; Assoc. Prof. Dr.Ismail Mat, Manager of Administrative Affairs Division; Mr.Fuad Ahmad Umar Al’As, Chief Finance Officer; Puan Raja Roslawati Raja Ismail and officers from the R&D Division. The MEDIU expressed his gratefulness to the honored guest on the initiatives that will contribute towards University’s achieving strategic goals with accuracy and efficiency.
In the session, Dr. Nur Anisah’s explain the needs for the application of the Balanced Scorecard, conducting workshop to design a strategic plan for senior management and other departments of the University and special workshops for the application of the Balanced Scorecard. Potential collaboration with MEDIU on the strategic planning, program management and performance management were also discussed in the session.
Balanced scorecard is regarded as one of the important tools for the success of the strategic management process used to develop the overall performance of the institution in which you translate the strategic activities of the company for precise measures of performance, which helps to draw the system of work organization and strategic measures. The purpose of this administrative tool works perfectly for all aspects of work that does not focus on the physical aspect but assist to increases fully integrated the interests of physical work and developing and improving the performance effectively.
