Approval of 3 postgraduate programs by MQA

MEDIU recently received full accreditation for the following online program in the Faculty of Islamic Sciences namely PhD of Education (Curriculum and Instruction) MQA/FA0132 and PhD in Qiraat (By Research) MQA/FA0217.

In October, MEDIU received full accreditation program status by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) for the Faculty of Islamic Sciences on-campus program, Master in Aqidah (MQA/FA 0770). Accredited programs contributes higher opportunities for university’s graduates especially to local graduates for employment in the public sector in particular as well as benefits the University’s towards international recognition.

MEDIU’s CEO, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi express his appreciation and gratitude to the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), Ministry of Higher Education, academic faculty members, registrar department on the dedication and efforts to gain the approval. MQA establish and maintain a national register known as the Malaysian Qualifications Register (MQR); containing programmes, qualifications and higher education providers accredited programs. MQR objective is to provide information on accredited programmes awarded by higher education providers. These programmes must conform to the Malaysian Qualifications Framework which acts as Malaysia’s declaration about its qualifications and their quality in relation to its education system.

However, there are still twenty-six (26) academic program is still in the process to obtain full accreditation latter. With this, a total of forty five (45) academic programs has been fully accredited by MQA which acts to implement the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF) which is a basis for quality assurance of higher education and as the reference point for the criteria and standards for national Qualifications. The MQA is a showroom for monitoring and overseeing the quality assurance practices and national accreditation of higher education.
