CEO participated in 9th World Urban Forum, Kuala Lumpur

The 9th World Urban Forum (WUF9) was recently held in Kuala Lumpur on 7-13 February 2018, officially opened officially by Dato’ Sri Haji Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia. The forum was convened by the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) addresses sustainable urban development with the theme “Cities 2030, Cities for All: Implementing the New Urban Agenda” focuses on the New Urban Agenda as a tool for achieving Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.The forum attracted thousands of stakeholders with participation from 185 countries to share knowledge and practice on how cities are built, planned and managed.

MEDIU’s Honorable CEO, Prof. Emeritus Dr. Ismawi Zen was invited as a panel ofr one the side event sharing session on “Citizen Partipation in Smart City: Experience Sharing”, organized by Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, National University of Malaysia.

The international forum event is an opportunity for partners from all over the world, representing many points of view to address and raise awareness on human settlements including rapid urbanization and its impact on cities, communities, economies, climate change and policies.
