MEDIU participated in MALAYSIA-AFRICA SUMMIT 2014

Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) participated in the Malaysia-Africa Summit 2014 which was held at Prince Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on Thursday, 18 September 2014. MEDIU was represented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sekou Toure; Dean of Scientific Research along with the officers; Mr.Ahmed Nour Moussa and Mr.Toure Mahy.

The summit is organized by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia through the Global Reach Program of Education Malaysia. It seeks to promote greater engagement between Malaysia and Africa by providing an avenue for greater academic exchanges between Malaysian-African scholars through bilateral and regional collaborations with the theme “Enhancing Malaysia-Africa Engagement: Reshaping the Global Discourse on Education & Development”.The summit attracted nearly 400 participants from various backgrounds; politician, academician and researchers from the African educational institution.

Y.Bhg Dato’Prof.Dr.Asma binti Ismail; Director General of the Department of Higher Education gave a welcoming remarks to the participants meanwhile YAB Tun Dr.Mahathir Mohamad; Honorary President of the Perdana Leadership Foundation had the honored to deliver the first keynote address to the summit participants.

MEDIU representatives thanked the organizer sin implementing the summit and saw the potential for closer involvement of developing countries in Africa and Asia which contribute to reshaping the global discourse on development and education.
