Closing Ceremony ‘8th Al-Quran and Hadith Competition’ Saudi School, Kuala Lumpur

The Saudi School, Kuala Lumpur under the auspices of the Royal Embassy of The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Malaysia organized the ‘8th Al-Quran and Hadith Competition’ with the cooperation from Islamic and religious schools throughout Malaysia. The closing ceremony was held on Wednesday evening, 29 April 2015 at the Saudi School, Kuala Lumpur. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Ambassador of the Royal Embassy of The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Mr. Fahad Bin Abdullah Al-Rashid.

In celebration of the victory, Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) was represented by Honorable CEO, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi. The closing ceremony has attracted nearly 350 students from more than 100 various Islamic and religious schools throughout Malaysia.

The ceremony began with Holy Quran recitation and followed by opening remarks by Mr. Mazen bin Saleh Al-Naseer, Principal of the Saudi School Kuala Lumpur. He stated that the school has taken the role of Saudi Arabia for hosting such competition as an obligation to preserve the Book of Allah Almighty and to encourage Muslims to learn, memorize and practice the Holy Quran.

Later, the audience were being heard readings of Quran by the past winners. An audio visual were presented to the guests on the history and development activities of the competition. This was followed by the competition official sponsor speech; Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al–Balehi, Religious Attaché of the Royal Embassy of The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He expressed his happiness to see the highly motivated participants taking part in the competition and completed the categories as well as praised on the level readings of the Holy Quran the participants has reached.

Lastly, the first winner of the competition with a cash prize of RM7000 for ‘Memorizing the Quran’ category is Sister Farihah binti Zulkifli from Tahfiz Darul Furqan, Selangor. The prize giving ceremony was given by His Excellency Ambassador of the Royal Embassy of The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Mr. Fahad Bin Abdullah Al-Rashid.
