3rd International Conference for Linguistic Studies (ICLS2017)

Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) recently organized the 3rd International Conference for Linguistic Studies (ICLS2017) with the theme “Towards a Renewable Creativity in Literary and Literary Studies” on 5-6 December 2017 at Selangor State Library, Shah Alam, Selangor.  Honorable CEO, Prof. Emeritus Dr. Ismawi Zen gave an opening speech in welcoming the participants of ICLS2017 which was organized by the Faculty of Language in the presence of Deputy CEO of R&D, Prof. Dr. Hj. Wan Sulaiman Bin Wan Yusoff; ICLS2017 Chairman, Prof. Dr. Daud Quadir Elega and MEDIU’s Council Member, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi.

Prof. Datuk Syed Omar Al-Saggaf, Former Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and MEDIU’s Council Member presented the first paper on ‘Arabic Language and its Role in the Developed World’, while Mr. Mohd Khair bin Ngadiron, Managing Director/CEO of Malaysian Institute of Translation and Books with his keynote address on ‘Contemporary Experiences in the Linguistic and Literary Studies’ during the opening session of ICLS2017.

The conference organized by the Faculty of Language dealt with contemporary experiences in linguistic and literary studies, targeting all researchers and students in linguistic studies from all educational institutions, universities and linguistic and cultural associations from inside and outside Malaysia. The conference, which includes research in Arabic, English and Malay targeting all researchers and students in the field of language studies from all educational institutions and universities with a total of 110 papers were fully presented during the two days conference.

During the closing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Daud Quadir Elega expresses his grartitude to the Honorable CEO on his patronage and guidance for the implementation of ICLS 2017 and heartfelt gratitude to the researchers and participants from within and outside the region whom attended the conference.
