The Centre of Preparatory Studies & Languages (CPSL) of Al-Madinah International University(MEDIU) recently organized ‘2nd Arabic Language Seminar for the Non-Native Speakers in the South-East of Asia’ which was held at De Palma Hotel, Ampang in Kuala Lumpur from 12-16 September 2019. The seminar was co-organized with MS Asia for Educational Services and Human Development with the aim to exchange experiences, emphasizes on the developing of language skills and modern methods, and utilize of education technology in teaching Arabic Language by inviting the competence experts in the field of teaching methods and learning techniques towards quality educational achievement.
The seminar targets the teachers of Arabic Language for its non-native speakers in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Philippine, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Nepal, Sri Lanka, India, Maldives and China. With the objectives of the seminar in developing the performance of Arabic language teachers in centers, institutes and schools in the targeted countries; exploring new methods in teaching Arabic language for children and beginners, getting to know pioneering experiences in applying modern technologies in teaching and presenting outstanding experiences in teaching the Arabic language.
The opening session was presented by Dr. Saleh Al-Shithri, Professor of Arabic at King Khalid Military College in Saudi Arabia on ‘The Importance of Learning and Teaching Arabic Language’ in the presence of Prof. Dr. Haji Wan Sulaiman, Deputy CEO of Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) and Prof. Dr. Mutawakkil Abdullatif Al Fadini, Executive Director of MS Asia.
Among the topics discussed were the importance of learning Arabic language and its teaching methods for Arabic language teachers, training course on the modern Arabic language teaching methods for Arabic language teachers, course on presentation skills and art of oration, Arabic calligraphy and others.
