MEDIU Research Activity: Vision, Challenges and Contributions of the Faculties
Al-Madinah International University(MEDIU) recently held the 6th monthly symposium on ‘MEDIU Research Activities: Vision, Challenges and Contributions of the Faculties’. The session was organized in cooperation with the Deanship of Scientific Research; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sekou Toure under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Khalifa Al-Tamimi which was held on Friday, 18 September 2015 with the participation by Deputy CEO of Academic Affairs Division; Assoc. Prof. Dr.Hj.Wan Mat Hj.Sulaiman, Deputy CEO of R&D; Assoc. Prof. Dr. AB Rahim Ismail and faculty members. The symposium aimed to highlight several points namely the different role of scientific research activities by each faculties, the contributions in the field of scientific activity, its production and the implications of the research activities, solutions and ways to address the challenges faced during the development of scientific research activities.
The session includes presentation by the Faculties Deans; namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usman Jakfar for Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Assoc. Prof.Dr Daud Abdul Quadir Elega for Faculty of Languages, Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Ali Alkhawlani for Faculty of Finance and Administrative Sciences, Asst. Prof. Dr. Najeeb Abbas Al-Sammarraie for Faculty of Computer and Information Technology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayman Aied Mohammed Mamdouh for Faculty of Education, Prof. Ir. Dr. Wan Mahmood Wan Ab. Majid for Faculty of Engineering and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ashraff Hasan Mohammad for Postgraduate Studies. The symposium ends with Q&A session by the participants as well as recommendation by the Committee of the Scientific Research; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yousif Hasan Mohammed.
Among several recommendations and resolutions concluded by the end of this session are to coordinate the composition faculty to ensure the continuity of the research projects, conducting scientific research in collaboration with other faculty, to propose lecturer to conduct at least three lectures per year and to coordinate formal minutes of meeting for other requirements to higher authorities if needed. Finally, presenters expressed thanks and appreciation to the University administration for their support in organizing the program for the benefit of development of the University.
